No Worries...
With my 4" lift I'm running Bilstein BS-F4-B46-1795-H0 up front. They are actually for a Mitsubishi Montero rear so they required revalving. I've replaced the rubbers once but shocks still going strong.
If I had to do it again I'd look at these with a 4" lift:
Front - Bilstein 24-185745 (This part replaces Bilstein F4-BE5-6582-H5)
Upper Mount: Stem
Lower Mount: Eye 16mm
Collapsed Length (inches): 11.67
Extended Length (inches): 17.95

They weren't around when I fitted the yellow HD's.

Thanks for the positive flex comments !
It did require a modification to one of the upper bump stop mounts in the procomp kit, and the other top mount that normally has a long spacer inserted was replaced with a much smaller spacer to gain upward travel. Still running factory torsion bars - despite years of operation outside their normal designed limits they are still holding up well.

The nicest thing about this setup is I can afford to run the front A Arms virtually flat as there is still a heap of upward travel. Its no where near a solid axle setup but its extremely comfortable on & off road.

It still however has its limits & will lift tyres but its been a great compromise !!!!

Thanks for the jinx...lol, they are tucked in with the hitch pretty tight, about 3/4" clearance from it... But I do have a protection plan in mind for them. Similar trick I used on lower work lights of the 40 ton wrecker I operated before my curent job. Weld a box to the hitch to guard them from lower impact. It still has open diffs for now, and no winch, again for now... So I dont do too extreme of activities with it yet.

Jeez, Bilstein aren't making it easy to get their shock data ! Here's what I could get from the new part numbers Bistein are now running with:
New Part #: 24-017954
46mm Monotube Shock Absorber
Internal Design: Monotube
Collapsed Length: 11.61 in / 295 mm
Extended Length: 17.89 in / 454.5 mm
Lower Mounting: Eye 16mm
Upper Mounting: Pin
Boot Included: Blue straight
Finish: Yellow paint
Supercedes: F4-B46-1795-H1
I had asked for them to be revalved to standard 4runner bilstein shocks, sorry but never got the new or old compression/rebound specs. They were too firm when installed, but was an easy exercise getting them revalved.
Ideally on full extension with my BJ spacers I need about another half inch. I deal with this by having a very thick rubber (or two) under the top mount. The top shock thread is long enough.

I've thought about pulling a plug wire and watching him cry to his "mommy" because she got him a $#!ty car. This kid is 17 and first his mom gave him a 3.0 4runner. He said he loved it, then blew the head, then said 4runners are the worst cars ever! Then came his honda civic. "I love this car, i get like 40 mpg!" then he blew the head and hated it. What do you think will happen with his subaru?
