Positive Review: replacment coilovers

1993 4runner coil *springs* replacments (to remove sagg). I ordered the Moog replacment coil *springs* online. Got them in the mail a week later (they came from new york), and got les schwab to put them in (i dont have coil compressors). When i saw the truck i was immediatly satisfied. i had les schwab give me the old ones, i wanted to see how bad they were. it turned out that the old ones were actually taller than the replacments. however when i stood on them boing boing they went. the moogs are much stronger and thicker, so hopefully they will last.
However there is a sad part to this tale... when i got home with the truck, i noticed that the drivers side was a little taller than the passenger side. I looked underneith to see that les schwab had installed the passenger side coil spring upsidedown...
dededeee, how could anyone possibly do that? it wasnt even touching the grooves that its suppost to sit in! so on monday im gonna have to go down there and make em fix em...

the coil over replacements from moog gave me at leaste 2-3 more inches in the rear end, it looks so much better, totally worth the $210 total spent.

Thats jacked up...I've seen drunken one-eyed monkeys work better than those people. You are a brave man for lending them your vehicle (and possibly life)!
FYI, most autozones rent spring compressors for free

it rides fine though, but the right side is a little lopsided.. lol i dont notice a problem when driving though

i just thought that they were separated as front coilovers and rear coilovers, i know that the front ones are called that but i thought that the rear ones were too even though they are different.

The "coil-overs" were introduced to the front of 4Runners in the 3rd gen (96-02).
The runner is looking good though.

You don't need a compressor to install those springs. Unbolt your shocks, jack up one corner (on the frame) until the spring pops free, and slip in the new one. Given that the Moog springs are shorter than the stockers (but stiffer) they install VERY easily.
That said, it's sometimes worth spending a little more and just having it done. What happens if you break a shock bolt, or the flex line rips, or...???

now i think your calling me stupid lol... i was, and am, very aware of there being torsion bars in the front and NOT coilovers... lol the only knowledge i am missing here is the name of the coil SPRINGS in the rear

you must have the torsion bars up ALL the way man, lol. your cv's must be screaminthe main reason of me not doing it myself is because i didnt want to ruin anything.. lol call me paranoid.

Actually, I didn't touch the torsion bars. That's why I went with a body lift - I didn't want to ruin anything either. It was my Daily Driver at the time.
Remember, 2nd gen Runners without flares can run 32-33's stock.
