A plethora of things.
I noticed that my truck has burned a quart of oil since october when i changed it. I'm changing it next week when I get paid.
I run mobil1 10-30, and have never had this problem before.
Think i should keep to what i normally do, and just see what happens next oil change?
Otherwise, I'm going 4 quarts of mobil1 and 1 quart of lucas.
2... Drivers side header pipe clamp. I took it off when i did my clutch. Don't remember why. Anyways, the head stripped of the bolt, so i just left it hanging didn't think anything of it. Mechanic saw it and thinks it is a $300 repair. Anyone got one laying around?
And last... but not least.
What size are the bolts for the skid plates?

Don't run Lucas. See www.Bobistheoilguy.com for a good explanation of oil additives and Lucas in particular. Basically, it does not perform any useful function in stopping leaks or cutting consumption.
Using a quart of oil between changes does not seem excessvie to me. How many miles do you have since the change?

yeah, a quart is normal for a 3.0.
Search on here for Seafoam. I would run some through just before your next oil change.
As for the skidplate bolts, it's been a while - they're fine thread (as all things toyota) - maybe M8?

one of our fleet accounts has 10 tundras...
I'm just gonna take the center bolt from 4 of the trucks skid plates.
They'll never notice. And its one less bolt i have to take off one they come in.

assuming its the same size bolt...
why on earth would you bother using lucas with mobil 1? Why not just grind up $20's into a paste, and use that to lubricate the engine? Seems like it'd be a waste to spend the money on synthetic oil if you're just gunna dump lucas into it.
Why not switch back to dino?

I came up with a clever ploy.

Explain to me what part of that was sarcasm? Or could it be that you maybe realize now that you're an idiot for advertising on the internet your intentions to steal from your customers. I'm sure if you would have asked nicely on this site, someone could have donated the 25 cent bolts to you. Makes me wonder what you would do to save a few bucks. What other parts do you help yourself too? Then again I'm gonna bet you're a lube jockey and don't have access to too many expensive parts anyway. One can hope.

Teh internet cannot generally convey tone. Or intention.
I pretty sure he was kidding Neo. Let it go man. No need to start slinging insults around.
Squeeb: Buy that clamp from the dealer. Its cheap, and it works the FIRST time. If you dont have that clamp on there, when the engine flexes, the pipe will not move with it like its supposed to. Thats why so many of the factory Y pipes fail at the welds. Thats where all the twisting stress is centered when that clamp is missing.

neoworm ... just.... let it go lol Go work on your truck and have a beer or something heh
I burn about a quart every thousands miles through my 22r and with zero blue smoke. Which translates into almost an oilchange of oil between oil changes but you wont ever see blue smoke or a leak (really, not one external oil leak).
I've seen quite a few of the 22's do the same.. I can only imagine the 3slow is similar. A good moderate consumption through old valve guide seals and piston rings is normal wear n tear on high mileage motors. When you start seeing blue smoke, something needs repair.
1quart a change is healthy.
