plastic thingy!

ok so I am wondering about the little plastic elbow shaped thing behind the bottom of the rear doors , just in front of the back tire. it seems like its only useful for collecting bushes and dirt to help me make my truck look more rustic. can i just toss it or what ?? WTF is it even?

Anything that can be pulled off, cut off, peeled off, hammered off, wrenched off or taken off... and the 4Runner still runs, isn't vital in the first place.

It is a 80' and 90's chip gaurd. It is where rocks would hit and cause damage to the paint kicked up by the front wheels. The trucks have one in front of the rear wheel. Now they use clear urethane chip film to do the same thing.

So if u have trouble just have somebody loosen your lugnuts and let a 35" cooper stt do its work.
