since you're thinking of building your own soon...i had the idea of adding a 2" or so body lift to my truck so that i could raise everything but the axles and driveshafts above the bottom of the frame rails. This would allow for a bellypan to bolt to the bottom of the frame rails covering the area between the two driveshafts..sort of what the buggies have but on a truck.

Seeing as how the transfercase is one of the lowest things on our trucks, you would almost have to raise it.

How does raising everything up correlate with the motor. Do you need to add spacers in the motor mounts to?

x3 www.budbuilt.com They make some STOUT stuff and you can get them made for a drivetrain lift.

Add 2" bodylift then add a 2" drivetrain lift to compensate. It does work and raises your entire drivetrain up-but you may have to have a custom rear driveshaft done or change its angle.

Given the recent "personal hygeine" polls posted in Off-Topic, I half expected this thread to say "Pics of skid MARKS". That was about to be it for me.

took a regular skid, cut off the old sheet metal and welded on some .25 steel.
I plan to make one to cover the bottom of the diff as soon as I buy a Sonoran
steel IFS brace. The downey brace I have makes removing the diff VERY difficult.

I just got my budbuilt transfercase crossmember/skid yesterday. Great product. For what Budbuilt is charging, I wouldn't even bother braking out the tools.

I paid a little over $500 for the front skid, crossmember, and belly pan. Have you priced steel lately? I didn't think it was worth trying to build them. Also, if you can swing all of them at the same time Bud will normally cut a deal on them.
