pickup seats

I have a 1988 toyota with a bench seat that is getting pretty worn out. I would like to put bucket seats in it, but I don't know what seats will fit with out a whole lot of drilling. I was looking at trying to get 1st generation 4runner seats but I don't know how well they will fit in a regular cab. Does anybody have any experience with this?

The 4Runner seats should be a pretty much direct bolt in.
I did find a set of 93 Acura Integra seats for my '81 that I was able to use two front mounts and only drill a couple of holes in the rear. Take a tape measure with you if you hit the bone yard.

Been awhile since I had a 2nd Gen truck so I can't recall what the front mounts looked like. I just know that it was so much more comfortable after swapping out the bench seat is my old 84.

I've been scouting for buckets for mine since I bought it and they are HARD to find. I found one set and the guy wanted $400 plus shipping. The 4 runner seats from the same years should swap right in as well as the 89-95 SR5 seats from a pickup. That's the info that I have gathered so far but good luck finding some.

Make them strong. Do not use wood. Seats have to stay put. But I know you know this.....

I took seats from a '93 4runner and put them into my '91 reg cab(that came with bench seat). The inner seatbelt holes become the seat+seatbelt holes, with added longer bolts. The front holes were there, I just had to add my own bolts and nuts.

i was lucky got some nice blue 4runer sr5 seats for my 91 pickup direct match to interior picked them up for 200 plus blower motor and resitor looked forever on online to find a set their way more comfy the 4 runner seat had to mount one rear into the previous seatbelt hole and switch um other that they fit great and are way nicer have heard of people trying other seats id look for some lexus seats may be easier everyone picks those 4runner seats o and the passenger seat isnt as adjustable as the driver so if possible id get to sr5 4runner seats both drivers (thats gona be hard though

well good luck

I searched around for months for 4runner or SR5 seats and found nothing within driving distance.

I finally broke down and dropped $100 on a set of Miata seats that were in really awesome shape and super comfy, but the brackets are COMPLETELY wrong for the truck.... mainly the rails sit about 4" narrower than the seat holes on the truck, and it's got these weird mounting spikes.

I'm pretty sure if I removed the Miata seat rails I could modify a set of truck rails to bolt up to the Miata seats... but I need the truck rails to make that happen.

Anyone know where I could pick up a set of used seat rails?

I took the front seats out of my 95 4runner limited and put them in my regular cab 87 the back corner mount just needed to be slightly bent but other than that they worked just fine
