Photoshop please?

Can someone help me decide what to do with my rust?

Option 1= new/used hood painted white (most expensive)

Option 2=use the black spray on bedliner about 3 inches from the edge. And add two obtuse (sp?) triangles on the edges stretching about 1/2-3/4 back. This will give it a mean look and cost about 40 bucks.

Option 3= someother design with the spray on bedliner (maybe same as #2 but with small jagged even edges painted on.

Here is the pic I would like photoshopped:

Thanks in advance.

Just paint it white to match the truck.
It's not that hard.

I have a picture I can show you when I get home from work. It's not on this computer and I can't remember where it's from right off hand. It should help decide between spray-on liner or paint to match.

Sorry I can't help now, but I would say paint to match hood, but liner down the rocker panels would help with rock chips and branches on the trails.

Interested in the pic, when you get a chance of course.

THanks!

cool, or get a hood deflector and put it on after sanding off all the rust and priming it and then painting it with the closest white you can.

Ditto on the hood deflector, then you don't have to worry so much about butchering it.

You could do the redneck mod and just take it off.

Still undecided...The triangles are neccessary b/c the rust goes up that way too!

I willl see call some body shops and see what paint costs...

Advanced Auto will have small cans of automotive spray paint that will match. If not perfectly, close enough. Around $5 a can. Sand down the rust, clean it real good with thinner, spray, and add a deflector. You'll hardly be able to notice.

Just did a few square feet of the roof on my wife's white Tahoe. You can't tell it was done.

If your rust has pitted (looks like it), you may need to cover the pits with a skim coat (filler) before painting. A primer coat may help as well.

You could do this yourself for around $20 and a few hours of work. And have some paint left over for touch-ups. The hood is probably rusting from underneath at the seams and will come back, eventually. If you opt to have it done by a professional (Maybe $300-$600), I'd start with a rust-free hood.

It has been decided. I went to the Advanced Auto, bought the following:

3 types of sand paper
sanding brick
can of Bondo/kit
2 cans spray on primer
1 can spray on-bed liner

forgot:
thinner and white paint.

I will do the job with white paint, if I don't like it, Herculine the design on!

It is going down this weekend. I will keep you all updated!

Sandblast the rust and get rid of it. Use metal etching primer.

Buy a new hood (fiberglass) because that will come back in a few years no matter what you do.

This should only be a temp fix as stated. The rust WILL come back unless all of it was removed, under the hood too. I believe herculiner bonds so it wont let it spread, but do it and just wait it may take the rust a while to come back if you do it properly.
