PCV Valve necessary

PCV Valve necessary
So when I did my ISR mod, i removed the PCV inlet to the intake and just put a filter on, but this weekend I removed my intake mani, and the pass side PCV hose that goes to the intake broke off. So for now I have just capped the hole in the mani. I'm wondering if this has effected anything because there is 1 vacuum line I am unable to hook up without killing the motor. I know the passenger side is actually a valve where the driver side is just a hole in the valve cover.

The PCV's function is to ventilate the crankcase, so not much pressure builds up and blows out seal's.
The valve in it is to prevent lighting up the engine, [backfire]
A breather would work, but you'll have to block off the vacuum hose, and hope that the crankcase get's enough venting.
Unlike the old "Roadraft" crankcase venting/breather's of 45 years ago.

See if You can add some type of breather on the valve so it doesn't suck in dirt/mud/crud.
Chevy had a plastic/nylon breather in the air filter housing, on all the cars trucks in the 70's see if You can dig one of those up.
edit: It was the intake breather for the PCV system on those old hummers.
