passenger side dome light button broken 2nd gen
well, I'm not sure what this button is called, but it sure is broken and almost drained my battery! it's the front cabin passenger side 'dome light'? button,
fell off and the spring is broken, so once it gets pushed in it STAYS in and never pops back out, leaving the light on all night! I had to pull the fuse for all the interior lights in order to not drain the battery.
I still have the button but I think that I need to replace the spring on the inner piece somehow...has anyone done this, or have any idea of procedure or parts required? thanks! what a stupid little button!!

maplight assembly 2nd gen
Thanks to uncle bob's instructions PMed to me, I was able to figure out that I can't remove the clear covering for each 2nd gen maplight but instead I have to remove the whole outer housing. In this way I can disable one bulb and reinstall my fuse, which powers all the other interior lights and clock/radio.
this is still only a temporary fix and I inquired at 1sttoyotaparts about replacing the switch. unfortunately it turns out that OEM only sells the entire assembly (rearview mirror, both lights, and housing) for about $150!
pretty expensive switch repair in my books! So, if anyone is parting out a grey interior 2nd gen and has a good condition center maplight assembly please let me know! Thanks! I will post to parts wanted as well. just wanted to finish up this thread. taiko
