passenger power window problems please help
on my pickup the power window on the passenger side stopped working. the window went up very slowly but it went down fine. so u guys think the window motor is toast? at first i was like i probably screwed it up when i cut the drl power wire but then i thought it cant be from that.

yeah the channel must be not lubricated, because before i pulled the window up while i was holding the switch and then the window went up faster when i let go. but i think the motor might have died because there was too much resistance for it. but i think the thing finally stopped working yesterday morning because it was frosty and the window wouldn't go down because of the ice on the window and that probably strained the motor.

The motors are usually pretty good for a long time. Usually moving parts like the scissor lift little roller bearings or the rubber slides where the glass sits gets dry and like others said puts resistance on the motor.
Sounds like you are on the right track by taking off the door panels. Just spray everything down with some lubricant.

Ok folks, I've edited out all the objectionable nonsense including the title and the flaming that followed.
When you come across a post/thread you find objectionable do not try to handle it yourself that usually only leads to flame wars which are also violations of our rules here. Use the blue ! mark located at the bottom left of the post to report it to the moderators. The staff will examine the post/thread in question and take action as is appropriate, that's why we're here.

not necessarily it could be that the tracks are binding as a previous post mentioned or just a lack of lube on the crank mechanism, or dirty contacts on the motor plug connections.
I used white spray lithium grease [jigaloo brand I think] on the tracks and mechanism before I closed up the doors with sound deadener and so far no worries...

ok i checked out the wiper motor by using a spare battery and connected 2 wires + and - and then stuck them into the terminals. the window went down right away, i made it go back up to close it. i then pulled out the plug from the switch and then stuck in wires, the window went down. i tried this on the window switch on the drivers side and the passenger side went down. there is power in the plugs i used a test light. i have no idea what to do next.
