passed smog, then engine light on?

i just got back from passing smog, and on the way home i got a check engine light. i pulled the codes and got a "open or shorted air flow meter" code and an "open or shorted 02 sensor" code.

i just put in a new o2 sensor a few days ago. is this my culprit? my truck passed smog with flying colors.

When I got my last emission test on a Dodge Ram the check engine light came on and the guy said that is pretty common for vehicles to do that while being tested. I guess the test simulates a steady incline and it is fairly strenuous on the vehicle.

I'd reset the code, then see if it ever comes up again. If it doesn't come up again, than you should be fine.

interesting. i wondered if perhaps all the weird tests and stuff would throw something off in there. i reset the ecu. however, should i assume that it is my 02 sensor if it comes up again.
