oxygen sensor questions!!!
i have a 93 pickup 3.0L 5 speed. i got a CEL code 25 and want to start with changing the O2 sensor. went to the dealership to ask how much a factory one was, they said they needed the VIN off the car to find out if it had cali emissions??? is that true?? is there really a difference in 02 sensors for that?
also, how many O2 sensors are on this truck?? some people tell me 2, others say one?
thanks in advance!

No, vin does not matter (in a sence). They probibly want to make sure if you have one or two o2 sensors.
If your truck is a california model, it will have two o2 sensors. One pre-cat and one post-cat.
If its not a california model, it will have only a single pre-cat o2 sensor.
Simply look at your exhaust to find out what model you have.
And don't buy from the stealership.
Go to: www.sparkplugs.com You will get the same product for WAY cheaper. Chose either "Denso" or "Ngk" (their o2 sensor line goes under the name NTK) oem replacments.
