Oxygen Sensor help

Trying to install a 4 wire o2 sensor. I got 1987 22re motor and ecu in a 88 body 88 had a 4 wire so bought one. I was wondering if it's OK to run the 4 wire on this 88 body wire harness but I'm using in 87 ecu and motor

if the existing o2 sensor is a 4 wire then it should be a simple replacement. if its not then replace it with the same one on the truck. if you know you have an 87 motor and harness then that is what you should buy your parts for when it is related to motor and engine electrical.

If your using an 87 computer (89661-35070)? and engine harness with an 88 body harness then you can run a 4wire sensor but you will need to ground the heater ground wire separately for it to work. The 88 computer grounds this wire internally but since 87 used a 1 wire sensor in the manifold the computer will not ground the wire because it was not designed too.
