Oregon Engine Rebuilders
Has anyone heard of or had any dealings with this company? That's a heckuva warranty they are claiming (lifetime unlimited mileage warranty)...sounds fishy.

Oregon Engine Rebuilders
I got mine from Overbore.com through Ebay.
http://www.overbore.com/
I spent quite a bit of time with the owner Mark on the phone before deciding to go with them.
He informed me that Toyota had him do their reman engine work for them, but they specified that they wanted the oil pans, timing belts and valve covers already on them calling them "drop in" engines so the mechanics could do a replacement faster. He mainlines now in Mitsi engines but still sells 3VZE's.
Mine barebones (without pan, valve covers, or timing belt installed) was $1850 plus a $300 core fee, and shipping costs. I also had him toss in a new knock sensor and wire. I could tell it was a quality rebuild when it arrived after unwrapping it. They paint mark bolts after torquing them, use the "correct" fipg sealer on the oil pump plate and other areas, and it was crated well. Although the forklift operator at the dock smacked my oil pump cover and broke it which they paid me to replace. (see pics)

Here's what I ordered last week. Hopefully I'll have be Tues.

I think 3-7 yr warranty's are a good deal. Unlimited mileage too.
Unless you gotta pull the engine AGAIN!
They offer it cuz WHO is gonna use the warranty after 2 yrs?
Most peeps sell their stuff by then.
It's either gonna go right away, like a bad build or it's gonna last.
It's the external stuff that generally goes.

I ordered a timing cover from them last week, I paid and shipping was prompt, no trouble at all...obviously that is not a big deal, especially compared to an engine, but I figured I would mention it.

i got mine from the guys at oregon and now 13K miles later it has a LOUD tapping sound and a rear main seal leak. sure it has the unlimited warranty and i could send it back to be fixed but that would leave me stranded for the month or so it would take.

Orientengine.com When my 3vze goes and if I decide to replace it I will go with them. I know they have a good rep on this board. Their warranty is 3 years/unlimited mileage A 3vze is 1999 plus core.

Hey, 95runnersr5, how much did you pay for the engine from Oregon? And why didn't you go with Orient as their prices are comparable? Do you think it just has loud valves? How's the power and are you using any oil?

Make sure and read all the fine print on these warranties. It is pretty crazy all the stipulations and red tape.
What was that line on Tommy Boy? Something about taking a dump in a box and marking it guaranteed.....
I'm not commenting on the quality of any of these engines at all, just make sure you COMPLETELY understand the warranty.

I bought my remanufactured engine from Orient engine in kentucky. Like someone above said $1999 plus your core motor. They were easy for me to deal with, but I had to call them several times to remind them to refund for my core. So far I have 2000 miles on the engine and its running fine.

it was $1600 i think.. i'm not sure what the noise is but at 75mph it gets really loud sometimes and my temp rises with the noise level. The power sucks. its a 3.0....and yeah it leaks at the rear main seal and i think it burns a little...if i had any sense i would have swapped an upgraded 22ret
