An open letter to the damn toyota guy who..

decided to put the front breather a freakin inch away from the damn oil pan, what the hell?? I pulled the stocker out and tryed to extend it like I did the rear,no dice! I could BARLEY get the stock breather back in..

I guess I will have to wait till I re-gear to put on the extended breather.

end rant.

Hey, The truck can't be 100% perfect, then we'd have to call it GOD. But some may disagree...

Toyota very well may = GOD to some.

Like the fuel filter on pickups, under the manifold farther down than the oil filter which also sucks, wtf?

Here's a thought

I did mine on the stock breather and used some fuel line 5/8 o.d. IIRC and zip tied to it. I ran the line from the top down to it and used a few more zip ties to tie it to the front of the motor and as many mounting points I could. Just remember don't chock the line closed it seems to work excellently. I did the rear the same way and ran it up through frame as high as possible both give me no trouble and seem to work great in the mud and water.

Total cost was less then 10 bucks

Thats what I did.

I clamped some clear hose to the rear stock breather after I took off the cap/spring thing. Then ran it along the LSVP (is that what its called) rod then to the frame, over the spare tire and then behind the tail light.

I went to do the same thing on the front but since the oil pan is so close I couldnt either get the hose and breather threaded in or attach the hose to the breather when its already in.

You have a 4" suspension lift right? You have 4" more clearance then I do

...I don't know...mine fit just fine. I even did it with a fitting that went straight up. But then I have the 22re.

Il grab a picture tomorrow if you want. Trust me there is VERY VERY little room.

The thing that made no sence is why didnt toyota just stick the breather on the housing like they did on the rear diff? There is a nice space that it would fit right on the top... I swear car manufactures do this just so its harder for joe blow to work on his truck.

OK heres a couple pics not the best but its 2am here so with no further ado

The first one is to show where I feed the hose down thru and zip tied it. When I feed it down I ran it as close to the motor as possible without getting it to close so it would not melt. As you can see the second and third ones are from the bottom and how I turn it to the stock vent. It may be a bit easier with the 4" lift but I belive that if you feed it down from the top you will be able to get it to make the same kind of bends and then clamp or zip tie it to the stock vent.

OK after looking at the pics they came out backwards so the first is really the last one but you get the idea I hope.

Without having some sort of diff drop its ALMOST impossible to get any kinda of hose in there. I will grab a picture as its 11pm and I dont wanna go out on the street and unbolt my skid plate to take pictures
