Okay 3.0 guys. I need some help again

!

Okay, so the 88' 4runner has been doing fine the last 10 days. Always started, and no issues.

Well, today I had just left the shop in it. Pulled up to a light, light turns green, I start to go, and it was like a stalled it it just kind of shut down all of a sudden. Cranked, and it started, so I let out the clutch and she went up to about 25mph, and then the whole damn thing just shut completely down.

She will crank, but I have no spark except in the ON position, not when cranking. The kicker is that there is no check engine light. Not even when you first turn the key on for the idiot lights. Not even when E & T are jumped. Still no light. So, I think I fried something.

Some more info: I called my main fab guy and he came and we strapped it back to the shop. Couple of things I noticed:
1. When he was pulling me, I could let out the clutch in gear and everything would come on kind of like bump starting it, but the tach wouldn't work even with the motor turning. Motor still would not run though.

This rig is killing me at this point. I checked all fuses, both in the engine compartment and under the dash. Everything was fine.

What would cause no spark, and no check engine light at all? Bad ECU? Bad Sensor, What?

Tach only works when rig is running, it measures rpms in electrical waves, not mechanical rpms.

Did the "cel" work before? If so, maybe a bad ecu, but they dont usually just go... I had mine submerged and it still works fine, so there would likely be another underlying problem... EFI fuse ok?

Yes, all fuses check out fine.

I understand that the tach works on electrical waves, but when towing with the motor in gear, the alt charges, so I figure the electrical system is getting power. It might be an ignitor too, but I don't understand why the Check Engine light basically just went completely dead. It has to be electrical or sensor related.

I've also jumped the fuel pump and its working fine.

It is weird that the cel stopped working...that would lead me to believe its something with the ecm. Hope this helps

Those are for the 93' though. The 88-89 3.0L stuff is all different.

That is a 64 pin ECM. I have a 62 pin ECM.
