Ok im selling my truck am i asking way to much?

well i hate to do it but i need something more pratical and my 1991 toyota pickup doesnt do it, i want to buy a newer stock 4runner but i have a question about the price im thinking about selling for, am i crazy to ask 7grand? i mean it has a new tranny, rebuilt rear end, 4.88 gearing, arb air locker, $500 in stereo, new BFG M/T's with 3 year warrenty, i have kept seat covers on it so they are in great shape, new clear marker lights, extra set of tires, camaro seats that are not installed, 4in trailmaster bracket lift, rancho rs 9000 shocks, warn m8000, bull bar, custom 1/4in steel rear bumper, nerf bars that work as rock sliders after i did a little . o and the truck has 160,000 miles on it. idk thats about it, it has a cherry bomb exhaust but im thinking that i might put the stock one back on what u guys think? o and what problems should i look for on the 97-01 4runners auto, 3.4, and the supercharger isnt important nice but i dont need it. ill be sad to see it go cuz its a awsome truck but i commute 500 miles a week and this aint the most fun truck to drive that far every day

Well, you'll never get back what you put into it. Plus, it's a 91, so $7000 is a turn off for people who don't necessarily know it's durability. How is the body on it? Any cancer? Same for the frame, is it in good shape?

in california i would be suprised if you got 5k for a 91, my sister got her 95 limited 4runner w/ 130k for that much, hers was stock, but mods to turn ppl off, i see SAS 4runners asking for 13k, they never go for that much haha,
i know its worth 7k to you, and it sounds like its a b/a truck, but to other ppl a 91 is a bit old for 7k
my 2cents, but dont get discouraged, post it for a while as you want and see what offers you get

btw 89 is posting bay area stuff, in the valley it goes just a little cheaper, the bay is so overpriced to live there, i would like to live ther! but just no way hahah

Well, i think it depends on how fast you need to get rid of it.

If you can wait, leave it there, somebody who's into toys will take it.

But for me, who's been into this for a while, I don't even consider modded trucks, and run as fast as I can from a truck with a rebuilt motor. I know yours doesn't have it, but coming from a buyers point of view, I trust everyone about as far as I can throw them, and any modifications make me wonder if the truck will even drive home.

If you can wait, I would leave it there. If you can't, I'd drop it to 4-5. Lower if you want it gone quick.

That's a $3500-4000 truck around here... Usually extras are just icing. You don't add the retail price of your extras to the selling price of an old truck like that. They usually just help a buyer decide between trucks.

You can always advertise it at $7k to test the waters. I mean, stranger things have happened.

Partially part it out man....that's the only way. Your never gonna get what you put into a high mile, 17 year old truck....that's just the reality of it.

I would test the waters for a quick sale for $7000, or a little less,

If you don't get any takers, then remove a few of the things that will fetch decent coin, like the winch/front bar, and the rollbar if it's in good cond., maybe parts of the stereo, and try to sell it closer to stock (it would be wayyyy too much work to remove the lift), you'll get more offers that way

and with the leftover parts, you can sell them or install them on your next rig if they'll work

If you're patient/lazy, just put it up for what you want, and leave it there until someone comes along, it'll sell eventually
