oil in coolant

Someone please tell me if you can say for sure this is oil? cause its not milky or dark, just those little floating particles.

Could also be oil cooler or lower intake gasket. Take it you are low on oil?

nope oil is right on full.

ive read it could be the timing chain rubbing the timing cover.

IIRC, you can remove the valve cover and get a flash light to check for that one.

i dont know how to go about doing that. i mean i can take the valve cover off, then ill beable to look down into the timing cover? if so then im just looking for a coolant leak or a worn spot?

When you get the valve cover off, look down the left side for this.

If the plastic guides are gone then it is the timeing chain eating thru the cover into the water pump area. you will need to replace it fast or you will lose you engine.. The timeing chain and cover. look on e-bay for the cover, you will find them there cheaper.

thanks for that. so if it is that then once i replace the cover and i guess the chain it'll be fine?

no you will need to replace the chain at this time, because it got old and streached out and caused the problumes you are haveing..

yeah thats what i was saying, but im noticing it is giving off some white smoke when i get on the gas a little. Deff a coolant/oil leak somewhere.

Do you have any cooling issues? Have your coolant checked for hydro carbons.

nah, like i said nothing seems to leak and the oil isnt milky like most people say it should be.

from looking at the pic in the OP can someone tell me for sure if thats oil? could it just be gunk and need to be flushed? cause from what im reading i doesnt seem like it. idk! help!
