odd noises when steering...
I have a '93 Toyota 4cyl 5 speed 4X4. Its a great truck and most issues have been sorted out except for a particular noise.
when i steer when driving, its fine. No problems there. when i am in a parking lot and turn the wheels sharply for parking or tight turns (not even cramping yet) this loud metallic "creak/ grinding" noise can be heard. It has a little vibration in the steering column. I was a little worried at first, but the father of a friend of mine had mentioned that he had the same truck and that it made the same noise. I havent talked to him recently and was wondering if you guys had any idea what causes the noise.
If it is a generic problem with this generation of trucks, then is there a way to silence the noise? It gets a little embarrassing at times....
If it is a problem of its own, what causes it and how can it be solved?
Thanks guys

X2. Most guys (like me) just lube it up with some grease and the noise will be gone temporarily. I usually just throw some grease on the stops whenever I'm working on the truck.
