Odd front suspension noises. HELP PLZ!
I just restored my front suspension last september (clean lower control arms, new upper and lower ball joints, control arm bushing, sway bar bushings, repacked the bearings, and new shock absorbers) and I had to replace my brakes. Anyways, theres a strange noise between 15 - 35 mph, it sounds like metal hitting metal and increases its tempo the faster I go. It also makes a loud POP noise when I turn at high speed or really sharp. Im thinking that the sway bar bushings might have dirt or grit in them, so I was planning to check there first. ANY ideas of where I should check or what might cause this?
Thanks
Thanks

Increasing frequency of metal on metal isn't your sway bar bushings. Maybe one of your brake dust shields are bent. Not sure about the popping noise though. Maybe a ball joint?

Does you truck have ADD or are your manual hubs locked? It might be a bad CV. But the lack of steering stops will grind and pop like you wouldn't believe as well at full lock steering especially if your over bumps. But it wouldn't make noise unless your at full lock so I doubt it's that. But it might be a combo of the two. Also as mentioned check your dust shields as well, they like to collect dirt/rocks more then they shield dust.

Sorry for the late reply, Ive been in Sunriver for the last couple of days. It has ADD, and I havent touched the CVs but the boots have been fine. I didnt think the ball joints or the dust shields could cause it because I was just down there about 20K ago. I will have to check those while Im changing the oil tomorrow.
The reason why I think it could be the sway bar bushings making some noise is cause I painted the sway bar with some Tuff Coat spray. So that could be restricting...
Anyways, I'll tell ya what I findout tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas

well, I havent had a chance to take the wheels off yet because its been raining, but I've had my dad listen to it outside while I drove past him. The other days I've just been to busy with work and what not.
What I have learned though: It tends to make this odd noise after I let off the brakes or when I am coasting
