nooB question: where's my thermostat?
My 3.0 is overheating...
I figure this is my first step right?
Is it the thing between the where the hose connects to the radiator and the motor? See pic below:

You're going to have to look below the black plastic timing belt cover to the right and down from what you are currently looking at. Best to remove the skid plate and go from the bottom. It looks more "rounded" like a thermostat housing usually it. It's immediately to the right of the water pump. In this pic, it's the missing part about 1/2 way down on the right (round hole).

FYI--I would also remove the timing belt cover and check for a leaking water pump. They can be VERY difficult to spot! I drove mine with a tiiny leak for months and it finally gave up the ghost and blew all the coolant out one night stranding me in the middle of nowhere...
