X2 re gear. Why dont you want to? Thats really how 22res get by. While you have the thirds out you can drop in lockers too if you really want the truck to go places, re gearing is the best option to get all that squirrel power to the ground.

thanks for dumbing it down for my jay

well i drove the car to work today after the intake, tb, and cleaning of the tb and intake mani and the truck def has enough power to run 33s now- let alone the added power from when i do the exhaust

and i didnt want to regear/ swap a motor because this is my DD and the camaro is my toy- i just want to run 33s safely on the highway as ive said 10 times

I've put a fair amount into my engine: mechanical, electrical, and exhuast/intake mods. I still have to downshift if the hill is big enough. Oh I'm on 33"s with 4:88's in difs. I also ran 4:10's with 33" well its doable but... So guess it really just depends on what you can live with. So try it, will only cost time and money if you don't like it go back to 31"s.

Hey everyone, I'm going to start a thread and ask some stupid questions and I want you all to try to honestly help me, while I tell you all you're stupid, missing the point, and condescending to me.

I'm thinking I'll be the first one on the forum to do this. Look for it.

haha- i also carry a comb in my back pocket and walk with a strut

the answer is yes- no muffler, simple tb work, cleaning black out of intake/tb, and cai is enough to power 33s- the truck can actually accelerate past cars now (with the 31s)

idk how much power i added, but i believe its enough to have 33s on it and maintain the feel of the 31s on the highway- prob still having to downshift into 4th, but not 3rd

maybe a better post would have been "cheapest way to gain ~20lb/ft down low"

here is an idea for exhaust, the way mine is i have stopck header stock pipe and a flowmaster 1 into 2 muffler, it sounds great. also i have no cat. I can tell a little difference but not much, i hope to soon upgrade to a header with 3 in pipe and reuse my muffler thats on it. I hope this helped you.

def, i want to keep the cat just so im not 100% illegal lmao, driving the truck to work today i def noticed a difference- not much but just enough to squeeze by with 33s without being an accident waiting to happen

flowmasters dont flow too good so my straight pipe with cat is prob simular to your flowmaster w/o cat- what other mods do you have and how comfortable are you with the 33s? (and are you regeared)

just regear if your that concerned. 4.56's or 4.88's will do the trick

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but the mods you have done, MIGHT have gained you a horsepower or two TOPS! Its a 22re, not a v8. You can't make power by doing a Hot air intake and exhaust work.

Gears are what these motors respond best to, thats why toyota geared then from the damn factory.

Gear your damn differentials to match your 33's, it will drive and tach like stock on the hwy. Sounds safe to me, but what the chit do I know right??

Thats what 75% of all these forums are anymore, minus pirate and fattshack, stop askin questions, and do something, Rome wasn't built in a day, and it wasn't built by asking lots of questions. I'm with Ovrrdrive on this one.

You are lacking power. Don't even lie, I run 33x12.50's and it sucks fat nut, and that filter and exhaust didn't give you anything for horsepower, if your lucky, MAYBE four or five, not enough to feel it. I bet you fifty bucks you cant spin the tires unless its in 4WD low with the hubs unlocked.
