No more Yota
An old pos 2wd F150 killed it today.



Doesn't look that bad but the whole front end is cocked over to the right about 2 inches. I did a piece of string allignment check and it's all messed up. Figuring the frame is bent
I need to find another 3rd gen ASAP, I just put so much time and money and parts into this one.
The F150 wouldn't start and had to be flat bedded away. I plugged the computer back into the battery, pulled out the broken radiator shroud and this drove home.

I'm in tabernacle down 206 near atsion. There's a group of us that go out weekly or every other week. PM me and I'll give you more info. Yeah I dunno about the frame. The one body mount in the first picture is trashed, folded over. I have never done any body work at all. The radiator support and the inner fender supports are pretty hosed. I don't know if they can be pulled back. I'm taking it to a body shop tomorrow just for the hell of it to see what number they throw at me or at least have an experienced person look at the damage and give a call on the frame for me. Then I'll decide on finding another 3rd gen and keeping this for parts or what. Oh and it doesn't really matter if he has/had insurance anyway. I was found at fault and issued a ticket. I won't be getting anything for my truck

I was making a left hand turn across 2 lanes of traffic (one turning one straight) out of a parking lot which has horrible visibility to the right. Bunch of trees blocking the way. Basically unless you're half way into the first lane you can't see down the road to make a left. It was clear and I started making a left but stopped halfway in the lane as I saw a car rapidly coming from the right. Being still clear to the left, I stopped to let them by. But they also stopped and as I was sitting waiting to see what they were going to do I was hit by a truck from the left. I guess in the 4 - 5 seconds I was stopped he didn't decide to stop since I was halfway into his lane.

I am hoping my frame is straight. I have to use it for work tomorrow so I was just out making sure the headlights were pointing in a decent direction. I then took it down the highway for a test drive. 65mph, hands off steering wheel, perfectly straight, no shakes, no vibrations, no pulling to one side, it drives exactly the same as it did before, it just looks like a pile of garbage. I know the one front left body mount in front of the radiator is mashed over but I'm hoping the frame is straight and the shop I take it tomorrow is able to fix it without a totally insane quote.

If it drives straight you might only have sheet metal woes, are the floorboards buckled near the body mounts? If not you might be able to fix it relatively easy, but it depends on how mangled the rad. support etc. is.

from the firewall back it's fine, cab body mounts are fine. It's the front left radiator support body mount that's all mashed over. Guess it has to be cut off and a new one welded on. Radiator support and inner fender supports are all bent and cocked over. Passenger door hits the back of the right fender when you open it. I don't know what's involved in replacing those. I'll see what the body shop says tomorrow. I just want to make sure the alignment is ok for the time being driving it to work and whatnot. $150 tires aren't that great to wear out.

It can be fixed. One way or another, it can be fixed. Same story with my 87 p/u that I rolled. Cranked right back up after it had been on it's side for about 15-20 minutes, Drove it back 2 miles to my house and it drove just as good as it had before, I just couldn't drive very fast because the safety glass kept popping and getting into my eyes. I was surprised how fast I got my cab swapped and the truck back on the road. I would try to get that straightened back out, or get another cab for it. I was lucky enough to have a broken down 2wd that I swiped the cab off of. Just don't get too jumpy about getting something else if you really want that particular truck back.
