No cooling system diagram in FSM

I'm looking for a detailed diagram for my 88 22re. Would you believe that in all 1500 pages of the Factory Service Manual, there isn't one? Google search is scarce as well. I sprung a leak in a water house at the heater core and found lots of funk in those hoses. I've been fighting a high idle and want to check the rest of the hoses. Anyone got a decent diagram?

I've found a decent diagram and every hose I pull is coated with debris inside. The rigid hoses are really bad. Is there any simple way to clean these at home without pulling them? How worried should I be about the crusty rust deposits in these hoses?

It seems someone either never changed coolant or ran straight water .

The only thing that rust will do is block the radiator and heater core

Render any of the coolant sensors pretty much useless

I don`t remember where I heard or remember this from but Calgon used to flush the cooling system works great to get all the build up out .

All the antifreeze needs to be flushed out first

Wyoming, I suspect you are right, this explains why the last guy had to do a new radiator and water pump. I'll look into that product for flushing rust and mineral deposits. I guess I'll be replacing the temp switch and ECT relay as well. I suppose any sensor that came in contact with what I'll assume was tap water. Thanks a bunch!

Wyoming! Now you made me feel bad for using tap water instead of distilled.

Josh, could you link or attach the coolant syatem flow diagrams you found please. Then we can all just google "site:yotatech.com cooling system diagram"

Water scale comes in all colors of the rainbow based on the mineral and microbe content. Just cause it is red doesn't make it iron oxide. I wonder how the 4-1 pickling mix would work for a coolant flush.
