OK, I'm ready to buy new plugs and wires. My question is, I no NGK plugs is the best to you ll for yotas. My question is, there are all different typs of NGK's like: IX Iridium, GP Platinum, Traditional & and V Power Plugs. Im new at this so I really need your help in picking the right one. Alos, what wires do you recommend. Your help in this matter would be great.

For the record, I have a 1995 4runner with a 3.0 auto 4x4

Technically, unless you have a turbo setup or nitrous or some other performance enhancements, you don't need anything more than the plane jane plugs. Will you harm anything by getting the fancier ones? No, just your wallet.

Sparkplugs.com is an excellent place to get them. As for the wires, factory or NGK are the way to go.

I'll second that--traditional ones are the way to go. I know my 22re uses a minimal amount of oil. I've been told to stay away from the iridium plugs as their points are much more fine and are more succeptable to fouling up.

i'd go with the v-power which i believe are the platinum plugs. copper plugs dont last nearly as long, and on the 3.0, atleast from what i hear, you dont want to be doing plugs regularly because its a pain to get at all of them.

I am running the IX Iridiums. They seem to be working much better then my fouled plugs.

I'm running these and honestly they don't work any better, or worse than the Bosch Platinums they replaced.

This may not be the correct number for you though as these are a one step colder plug on a 22re. The only NGK plug I could find in town any colder than stock were the vgrooves...

Stock replacement is a BPR5EY.

Just remember all, I have a stock 3.0 95 runner, and I'm looking for the right NGK plug for my rig. All of you seem to no what is best, and Itrust you all with my rig.

sparkplugs.com also has NGK wires and plain Jane NGK's. Dont waste the money. Besides, if you change the plain jane more often--then you are forced to take a look at how the engine is running (i.e. reading the plugs). Just get plain jane--save the money to buy whomever it is that is helping you a beer

It is also a good idea to check your plug wires, and replace them if necessary.

what ever the plats are. I thought i remembered v-power being the plats, but now that i think about it i'm probably wrong. on a 22re it doesent matter because it takes me all of 10 minutes to change the plugs, and if i dont think the engine is running right i've been known to take em out in a parking lot, and check the condition lol. on the 3.0 its much more of a pain to pull the plugs so you're better off going with the platinum plugs

Just buy the regular plugs. I think it's pretty crazy to pay $7 or $10 bucks per plug for the "special" ones (per the above website) instead of $2 a piece for the regular ones. I seriously doubt you will notice a difference.

on the link I put up the reg NGKs cost 1.98 the denso's cost 1.44

Then I would just do the Denso plugs and get the whole set for the same price as one fancy plug (those are the standard dealer supplied plugs). Then I would use the $50 I saved on buying new wires to the spark plugs if I needed them.
