Hi been 32 years sense I bought my new 1980 4x4 hilux pickup! Always been a mini trucker. Wanted to get a work truck, seen few people still driving these relics these days! Well happened the other day fell into this little gem ,
a 1989 base Toyota 2 wheel drive short bed 4 speed. 33 years old very little rust! 110,000,MLS. Noticed on the way home it needed one more gear. It's a 4 speed. Is there a upgrade I can do like drop a 5 speed in it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

 

what engine you got in er? I have the 89 DLX with a 5 speed. 3 litre though.

 

My '89 pickup 2wd 4 banger has 5 speed since new.
