Newb Question
I am trying to change my accessory belts - and I cannot tension my Power Steering belt properly. The belt is pulled as tight as it can go and the tensioner is still about 3/4" away from where the bolts go (see picture below). I compared the new belt with the old one, and they are the same length. What should I do?

I am tempted to string up some baling wire to keep the tensioner where it is currently at - but thats pretty ghetto. I just want to do it right!

see the bolt on the side of the pulley mount... next to the hole you can't get the bolt in... pointing sort of towards the alternator...?
that is the adjusting bolt. you have to loosen the bolt through the front of the pulley, then loosen that bolt. it'll cause the pulley to slide in the mount so you can get the other bolt through the mount into the engine.
then tighten that bolt until you have the tension proper on the pulley, then tighten the bolt through the pulley to lock it down.

OMG Abecedarian you rock! I went out to the garage and got her all put back together - just like that. Your directions worked perfectly!
I am still fully convinced that yota's are easy to work on -if you know all the little tricks. Do you have some literature that you would recommend me picking up for working on a 22RE? I don't want to have to create thread everytime I can't figure something out.
Thanks again!

all kinds of stuff here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...umbers-102344/
quite a few things changed on the electronics between the years so there may be differences in some of the docs and what applies to your truck. mechanically, a post 85 22re is a 22re.
