new tires for the 4runner
its about that time to put some new tires on my 4runner but i need help picking a size. I got a set of rims from my friend that have quite a good bit of backspacing so they do stick out alot. I am wondering whether i should go with 31x10.50s or 32x11.50s. i have 4.88 gears so either size would be fine power wise with me. i like the tires sticking out in an agrresive kinda way but i don't want them to look like one of those mexican cars. wut do u guyys think. any pictures??.

You may have to customize ( read: flatten the inner fender seam at the firewall ) to avoid rub at full lock. A rim with a hub spacing that puts the center of the wheel farther from the A-arm will make any tire more likely to rub at the firewall and at the top of the fender on full compression.

How much backspacing are you talking about? If there around 3.75" then your in good shape to run 32's and it wont look bad at all.
I'd do it. The most you might rub would be a tiny bit on the plastic valance when making a U-turn.
I ran 33x10.50s with no lift for a few weeks and had no issues worth mentioning.
could i fit 32x11.50s on my stock alloy rims and not have to worry about rubbing the a-arms or anything else?

They have 4" backspacing but i would of rather wanted 3.75". Shortly after i got the tires, i added a 1" BL and wheeled the crap out of it with no problems. I never got a chance to add my suspension lift but its a good thing i didn't...click the link in my signature to see why. I let my "buildup" thread die a long time ago cause i decided to slap all my junk on this summer.
The only rubbing i had with no lift was on the plastic bumper valance so i just took it off.

I have 33x10.50 on stock rims with no lift and no rubbing issues. I like the way they fill up the wheelwell. This is a fantastic tire size for Toyotas, unfortunately, the selection is pretty limited (BFG A/T and M/T, Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT, and SuperSwampers). I think the metric size is 265/85R16 and there are a few other choices.
