I am currently running Yokies Geolander AT+II 265/70 R16s on my first gen. When they wear I am considering a 305/70 R16 perhaps the Geolander MT. I am probably going to install a set of 1.5" spacers. Does anything think this will be too much tire or that Ill have rubbing issues? Im thinking with the flares I have installed the truck looks a bit weak and needs a meatier tire pushed out further. Here is how it looks now. I guess cold days are meant for internet window shopping lol.

 

yea fatter tires should look pretty good...

on a side note, were did u get those flares? i'm thinking of getting some for my 90

 

I agree with going to a much more agessive tire. And those are nice flare's.
If my fenders weren't so beet up already I might think about a set.

I do not believe 305's will fit with just a 1.5 inch lift. 285's would probably be better. Plus without regearing, you will drag down the engine big time,

 

I was going to say the same thing. I think a 285 would be a better choice then a 305 ... IMO too.

Where did you purchase your flares? I'm thinking about a set myself.

Thanks this is what I was worried about.....also I am going with a 1.5" wheel spacer not a lift. at the moment the truck is stock I think. It has aftermarket leafs (not add-a-leafs) and a 20 mm torsion bar. I may put in a 1-1.5" ball joint spacer to even out the front but I dont really want to lift it. For all who asked the flares are bushwacker extend a flares and were a little under 300$ shipped. Not to hard to install. thanks for the advice.

For views this is what the tire I was thinking of looks like ...........

 

1.5" wheel spacers ... wow. That's really going throw a 12.50 wheel out really far from your fender flare. If you wanted something to fill out the fenderwell and fender flares more why not just add the wheel spacer and see how it looks first before purchasing 12.50s.
