header update

I think maybe if everybody called Randy at Thorley, he might get the point that we need this header like yesterday! 1-800-347-8664

Anyone know of the expected "street price" on these? If there is a group buy on them with a Y-pipe that actually fits right I'm in for a set, otherwise it looks like Downey headers and a custom y-pipe.

Reading the thread - is thorley actually making the downey header or just picked up the old stock of them??

I know they are making new headers from the ground up. The HEADER, 4:1, TOYOTA, 1988-95, 3.0L, will retail for over $500. This is alot more than most of the other companies out there, but you get what you pay for with auto parts.
I am sure there will be a special introductory price when they first come out.

Is this thread in the right forum? I was looking for it and I thought I'd find it in the 86-95 4runners/pickups forum.

I have been talking with Sean at Thorley who said that there will be an introductory price of 393 for chrome and 500 for ceramic (I think those are the numbers).
He also said that he has 50 sets sitting on the shelves RIGHT NOW, but is unable to sell them until they get CARB approval. They cannot even sell them to out of state customers until they have this approval...

He also sent me a pic of the whole set, and I will check with him if it is ok to post it. They look sweet, and it is killing me to wait for them!

You and me both, bro. Sean said the company would be fined for selling it before they get approval, but I don't see how they could be fined for selling it out of state... unless that is just another part of living in the communist state of Cali... :-)

I emailed Thorley earlier this week and here is his response:

Part Number is 505 and I checked with manufacturing they told me late February. Sorry for the wait.

Shurly you jest....

Ive get a set of headers that would be indisihingishable from those at 5' sitting in my garage right now. Bought from Downey a month ago.

based on Downey's response a number of months go i dought they manufacutre them themselves. Based on that i wouldnt be surpised at all if Thorley just contacted the same 3rd party and had them put the Thorley name on some....
