Just called Randy & he seemed SO busy he couldn't talk - wanted me to call back in 3-4 weeks! I said "what?!?" - so I just PM'd Steveh29 to see if he's heard anything.

Be patient

I have a leak in my exhaust right behind my block that just started. I need either headers or put in another crappy exhaust...

What's the deal?

I don't have anything new...Randy wasn't too helpful last time I talked to him, he was so busy he barely had time to talk 2 minutes. I'll call again next week.

I just wish there was a way for Thorley to see the interest we've got!! Maybe then they'd get off the pot & finish these headers!! But I'm sure it's a priority issue they're dealing with, so I'm being as patient as I can.

I have an exhaust leak too, just been dealing with it for the last 5-6 months...

Well I emailed them asking if they had any available for the 3.0L 4x4. I urged that I needed them soon, so we will see what kind of reply I get. I will let them know that either they can have my money (which I would prefer) or I would be also glad to fix my problem by giving their competators some money.

Then they will take the prototype headers and use them to make a production run of 100 sets of headers. Once the production set starts coming out they will take my truck a second time and test fit a set of the production run headers to make sure they fit OK. So, I don't know how long it will be from Thursday when they are done testing the prototype until they actually go into production.

Man I would not want that job! putting headers on a 3.0 is a big enough pain in the a$$ but to have to do it 2 or 3 times to the same truck??? Id call in after the second time :pat:

Guess I get to hand my money over to someone else...

We are still working on this project might have this done by early next year sorry for the wait.

RANDY MILLER
So now which ones do I get? Or do I just replace the crap exhaust pipe behind the block?

I would still need a Downey or a custom Y pipe, right ?

Yes, it's just the headers with gaskets, mounting hardware and instructions. You'll need a cross-over and y pipe. The headers are Downey part# 17410-30C ‘88-95 3.0 V-6 Headers, Ceramic

Update: they are sold now

Toyota headers

Hey Kids.
I have a ray of hope for you on the Thorley headers. They are moving along slowly but surely. Randy has been all over this project and wants it to be done right the first time, therefore it has taken way longer than expected. He has also been busy making sure we can see some gains with this new product too! We have confimed the arrival of a Brand New DynoJet 248X dyno to show some numbers on this project soon! Here are pictures of a 22R 88'-95' header that is now in it's last stages of completion. Just waiting for some CARB numbers from our wonderful state employees.
Thanks!

I called Thorley the other day and the sales rep I spoke to says that the headers are not available yet, but should be in 2-3 weeks. Said he'll call me when they are ready. I don't know how accurate the timeframe is and winter's coming, so I ended up buying mt_goat's Downey headers.

header update

Word at Thorley is that the major bump in the road to getting these things done is the SEMA show this week in Vegas. It caused production to almost stop completely. Also as a side note, these will have to retest with CARB in order to keep with the "smog legal" certification. This may add to the wait. As soon as pictures are available... you will see them here first!

Also, they have purchased an additional 30K sq ft. buliding adjacient to their other two buildings. This is to make room for the additional two CNC's and benders. Thorley has 50K in manufacturing alone! (Not just a warehouse!)
