new slave, cannot shift out of neutral!

i just replaced my clutch slave as i new it was leaking for a while but it finally went on me. over the past year or so i had to top off the resivoir from time to time. a couple of the times, the reservoir was dry. so i relpaced the slave and had to adjust the rod going into the master cylinder because there was about 3/4" of play in the clutch pedal. now, 150 miles later, i cannot shift into any gear once again and my resivoir is still full. i cannot adjust the pedal anymore, it is at maximum extension. fluid is as clear as new fluid.

The obvious is did you bleed the system? Is your clutch bracket cracked or busted? Common problem on a lot of older Toyotas.

bracket seems intact. when my friend presses the clutch down, the rod pushes that bracket, but not a whole of a lot. im thinking it was a defective slave even though it is not leaking or the master cylinder is bad since the reservoir ran dry a couple of times...

ok so if you mean the bracket that holds the clutch pedal, that is cracked. i have read other threads and based on what everyone else's problems are when this plate cracks, i believe that this is the problem.
