new shocks YAY!

got my new shocks installed today... rides SO much better it feels like its brand new!! theyre rancho rs5000s. oh yeah, my mechanic yelled at me for using penzoil... lol

he should of yelled at you for using ranchos! i have some on my 4runner and they really suck and i wished id never had wasted my money on them. when im ready to spend money on my 4runner im just going to go with bilsteins

X2. mine lasted along time, actually the rubber grommet wore out before the shock itself did. they were better than the cheap pos shocks the po had on there.

i run penzoil and castrol. never quaker sludge

Your mechanic probably doesn't realize that Pennzoil isn't as it used to be. It's actually a very decent oil. I haven't kept up so much with conventional oils, but their Pennzoil Platinum has nothing but good reviews and good results. Read all about it over at the BITOG forums. They seem to think it's one of the top oils out there these days, with the info and oil analysis reports these guys have done, I can't do anything except agree.

However, I just can't bring myself to run something that had such a bad reputation. BITOG members have also reported a sludgy brown sediment at the bottom of some of their Pennzoil Platinum quarts.

little do most poeple know Quaker is made and owned by Penzoil, is basicaly the same stuff. i know cuase i worked at Jiffylube for some mounths and found out from the guy who delivers the oil to us.
