So after inspecting my new-to-me 94 xtra cab 4wd, I noticed that the bushings on one shocks are almost dead, and both rear shock sleeves are rusty, so I want to put in new shocks, front and back.

Now, I have always driven import cars, with struts, and anytime I have upgraded the suspension it has been coilovers, so my knowledge of truck shocks is minimal at best.

My truck is a v6, and Im pretty sure its stock suspension (doesnt look like anything after market) I have 31"s on 15" rims. Im assuming stock tire size too?

I want to get a set of shocks similiar to stock, maybe a little more dampening for the bad roads, but price is more a factor.

what do you recommend? I live in Canada, so if anyone from Canuckville knows the goods on shocks from Canadian Tire, let me know!

 

Oh, and I did search, but didnt find much on stock shocks.

Check the price on the stock Tokiko shocks...they're pretty good and not terribly high priced. As an alternative, there's always the Procomp 3000, or the equivalent Rancho model. KYB may have some in this price range.
These are in the $32-$38 each range.
If you've got more dough, I recommend the Bilsteins--but they're about $68 each.
If you're really "on the cheap", just buy whatever quick-fade, instant-rust, fail-in-a-year things that PepBoys is selling.

 

Well, I dont mind spending $100-150 for 4 shocks. So I am definetly looking high end. Im more worried about sag, and stength over the next year or so, then I will replace with high quality whenI do the rebuild

 

OME looks like pretty good shocks, but my favorite to date has been BILSTEIN. They're awesome.
