Yes, Procomps are too short for the front.

You're supposed to have to compress the shocks to get them in at ride height. Otherwise you would have no droop travel. Some of the procomp shocks are spec'd for 0-1" of lift or so. Did you happen to get those?

i dunno, i bought them at 4wheelparts. and they asked if i had a lift, i said 3 inch body. but i think they must have been the 1 inch lift ones. because i had to compress them at leaste 4 inches just to them the SOBs in there.

when i removed the old ones they didnt extend at all when they were out.

btw, i dont wheel my vehicle at all, so is it really necessery to get the longer shocks?

Well, I suppose if your runner just stays on the street you dont need the travel. So no. But it would be best if you got the correct shocks.

yeah i was just wondering if it was okay to leave it like that until i had the money for the shocks.

what would happen if i had short shocks and went off road?

It would just limit your flex. A too short shock will not damage anything, a shock thats too long will.

you should be okay with your shocks until you can afford new ones.
even though you're getting lift from the spacers, the lower arm isn't mounted to the frame any lower and where the shock mounts on the lower arm is only going to travel maybe 1/2" or so lower than without the bj spacers.
you can check it when you get the spacers on by jacking up the truck with your shocks on and seeing if the upper arm contacts the droop bump stop- if so, you're okay.
