New member here. 1990 2wd
I recently bought a 1990 2wd pickup truck, base model, no power no nothing. I use it to go to work and go home, and I'm not much of an off-roader myself. I've read that most people lifted their 2wd, may be for the look. I do like the lifted look, but I have a question on whether it will hurt the suspension or not? Would a lifted 2wd truck incur more repairs in the future?
And what upgrades can I do to my 2nd 2wd? Thanks much!

A lot of people like the 4WD stance of a Toyota...I happen to like both 2WD and 4WD drive models of our trucks, but personally don't care for a lifted 2WD (aka Pre-Runner). A lot of the desert guys would have all the best info on those.
As far as hurting the truck, as long as you do it the right way with appropriate parts and time, it should be just fine. It's when you get into cutting corners that you start having issues.
On upgrades, it all depends on what you want out of your truck, i.e. what you're asking it to do. If you are looking for mileage, bone stock and keep the fluids changed...beyond that, your options are pretty much unlimited.

1st response! Woohoo! Thanks for replying to my question. Well, I'm looking for mileage, not much more than that. I guess keeping it bone stock will give me what I want.
The only upgrade I think that I will do, is to replace the stock 14 inch wheels with a set of Highlander 16 inch factory wheels, 16 X 7.5. I think they will fit since they are 5-lug pattern. But I'll know for sure once I try to fit them on.
