Just joined the forum and I am looking forward to participating while building my rig.
In 1987, my dad bought this 4runner and I was 13yrs old. It was grey at the time and has seen better years. In 2010, I had it painted gloss black and unfortunately, I never got around to putting some work into it as I concentrated on modifying my other projects. It sat for nearly 2 yrs, didn't run, oxidized paint, and cracked flat tires.
In the last week, got it to run as well as some new all terrain tires. Today washed the truck, took the top off for the first time ... next is the No Cut Zuk Mod with 11" Coil Springs.
I hope to add a Grant Removable Steering Wheel, Softopper, and Bushwack Fender Flares with some wheel spacers. Best part is reviving an old family car.
Here's a pic ...

Yes nice looking ride.
My 93 truck I've had since 97. Bought it second hand and was the first automobile I owned. Its comming up on 250,000 miles; and without a doubt it's been the most reliable thing I have ever owned.

Thanks for the compliment and welcome everyone!
It has 285,000+ miles with the same engine. So many offers to buy it over the years with many notes on the window even at it's worst. We never even thought about it as we knew we would get it back on the road some day.
My dad loved this 87 so much that in 1996 I got a white limited edition 4Runner and I was the original owner. He now has it. Here's pic of that rig.

Nice 4runner Jojax. How many miles do you have on this bad boy? btw Thanks for posting up this picture. i have been wondering what painted black sr5 rims look like for a few days but hadnt gotten a chance to see a good picture posted. They dont look half bad.
It's nice to read the history on your rig man. at least you know everything that truck has ever been through, not like taking a chance from buying off another owner.
Look forward to see ur build.

In the last few days I've been cruising around. So many people give a 25 yr old truck a look. It's badass.

The rims were thrashed so I went all black. I was going to make the other chrome accents black for an entire blackout look, but decided to leave the accents as is.
It's sentimental as it's been in my family since day 1. That's the best part about it.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I ordered the 11" Coil Springs to do the No Cut Zuk Mod then I'll go for a Softopper. Was hoping on finding a used one, but that's seems rare. I was going to do fender flares, but I think I will opt for some sort of bull bar for the front bumper and a new rear bumper to match.
With the top off, it feels a bit shady leaving the rig unlocked, but for now I have a pedal and steering CLUB. Been searching on the board and so far many of you install a few kill switches, have the Grant Removable Steering Wheels, and attach a ammo box to lockup some valuables. Great resource the search function, but of course I've been modifying cars since I was 16 so I've been on a forum or two

Welcome from me as well.
I'm a new member as well but not new to my 1987 2 wheel drive pickup. I bought it brand new waaaaay back when. It has never seen another owner. I still have the original window sticker.
