i guess i could pull the intake but even with the pcv hose disconnected and venting to atmosphere it smokes after warm. i just checked my comp and i have an even 155 across the board. i checked the spark plugs and they all looked about the same, no oil dripping from them. the plug tips were half clean half burt with the exception of the #6 it was the only one with a good clean burn or at least it was the only one that looked normal.

2 days prior to putting the intake on i sprayed the inside of the intake from every opening i could with carb cleaner. i got alot of crap out of there. but could there still be some residual gunk in there that is slowly burning off as it gets warm? also i did the best i could to see down into each spark plug hole, the piston tops all looked about the same with the caramel coloring

I would guess that the rings need time to break in if you used chromoly rings

i don't know what rings they used. another bummer is that reading thru the warranty info the company is LKQ and if a ''do it yourself'' install is done they will not cover it even if it is a manufacturing defect on their part.

OK so i figured it out. there was 2 problems working in conjunction to form the root issue.
the passenger valve cover gasket on the inside had an area that was leaking and right below that leak where the oil was pooling, two of the intake bolts were not torqued to specs. so when the engine heated up, the expansion allowed an air leak to form, sucking in the oil causing the smoke and at the same time the computer would inject more fuel to compensate for the vac leak causing the plugs to look like they were washed by coolant. this also explains why my oil had a very strong gas odor and no signs of coolant.
but now i keep getting a code 52 as i have read over and over again in the archives. gotta start looking at the wiring,.
