New to the forum/ which toyota to buy?

Hey guys, i've been browsing the forums lately looking for information on my probable purchase of a Toyota pickup. I come from a background of sports cars/diesel trucks and hopefully will be building a nice Toyota Pickup as well.

Just an idea of some the things ive built in the past.

Anyway I have been in the market for a nice Toyota pickup 5speed 4x4, preferably a extended cab but i'd settle for a good condition standard cab with a tool box. Looking for one in good shape with no frame rust and it will be my daily driver. I found two that I was looking at so far I'm looking to spend around 4000 only bad thing is so far the only ones i have found have not had a/c selected as an option...bummer right =/ was looking to get your guys opinions on these two trucks!

^-- I would need to remove the bared wire decal and looks like it has a few dents but the frame being coated is a bonus in my mind. New wheels and tires but lacks the extended cab. 180k on chassis Also has a replacement engine with 80k on it and all the paperwork for it.

^-- this one has the extended cab like i want, I'm 6'2 and looks decent but says there is rust on the cab corner and still has no a/c. Also has 200k miles but on stock engine.

oh and this one, it's kind of in the middle

Any opinions on these three trucks which is better? or should I just wait to see if something better comes along with a/c? I have the option of waiting a few weeks to a month if necessary.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to contributing here shortly.

wait it out, find the exact truck you want, and dump money into it.

Lol

Wink

It seems that the trucks with AC are few and far between.

But beware these Trucks are addicting !!! I started with one now have far to many.

Good luck

As others have said, wait until you find "the one" and then overpay for it.
It took me 3 years for my '85 SR5 X-tra cab w/ A/C etc. in California.
Don't make a compromise between choices that are available now IMO.

Lol

do not get in a hurry to buy or sell or you will not be happy.
i looked for a while to find my current yota, but 12 years and 180k later i know i made a good decision.
get something you can live with for the longer term and you will be so much happier... imo

I waited 4 years to find "the one" with enough work into it, that I felt paying 4000 for my 89 ex cab with rebuilt motor with paperwork, new tires, lift, and 95.5 4runner front end conversion with 286k on the odo was worth it. my girl thought I was crazy spending 4k on a 22 year old truck. Then she rode in it offroad, and said it was worth every penny.

Yea I know I should probably hold out and wait for a ext. cab 5spd with a/c so hopefully one pops up in a few weeks before i'm hurting for a car/trucl ha. If not i'll just find the cleanest rust free truck I can find.

Haha you sound like a 16 year old kid that has an idea in his head and sees something nice but different and changes his mind really quick! haha I say wait, keep checking CL and build your funds and you'll know which one is "meant for you".
