new Exhuast

So I am installing a new 22rePerformance.com stage 2.5 in my 1989 4Runner. I have a LCE Street header. I am going to have a new exhaust installed so here is my question.

Where do yall dump the exhaust at? The issue I have with running it out the very back is that when I have the top on and the rear window down, it sucks the fumes directly inside and tries to KILL me.

Second, what muffler do yall like. I would like as deep and throaty sound that I can get with a 22re I would love for it not so sound like a angry weed eater, but if that's all I can hope for , then oh well.

Thanks Yall

dumping it is just gonna make it hum/resonate from under the truck. cant really help the weed eater sound on a 22re.

i believe you want it routed to the side, behind the rear axle - like it is stock. something to do with the air flow making a vacuum that pulls exhaust back into rear windows when you dump underneath or before the axle, even though they visually look better sometimes.

i don't think my 22re sounds like a weed eater. i have a free flowing 2.25" setup with a magnaflow turbo muffler. i think it's actually quieter than my stock exhaust was with swiss cheese muffler.

I agree with dump in the stock location, And any quality straight through (turbo) style muffler will make it sound good. I would recommend a 2 in size exhaust pipe and avoid crush bent pipe like the plague. Also keep your catalytic converter, it greatly reduces raspy weed eater sounds lol
