I dont really want to spend over a grand for a long block. The truck is in excellent condition except it needs new engine. I want to replace it and drive it for awhile longer and sell it and not screw over myself and the next person.

I live in Southern California so that probably will be a benefit.

options?

I always see all sorts of Toyota engines pop up on the local Craig's list. Even see some total rigs on occasion that might be good to pick up and take what you need... selling the rest.

Might even break even that way.

I agree, I am in Virginia and I am selling(probably) my entire motor(22re w/ 10k on rebuild0) with transmission(w56 w/ 60k on rebuild) minus sensors for about 450 as it looks right now.

you could try Import Engine Specialties...overbore.com..I just ordered my 3.0 from them and I got a great deal...speak to Mark..he would probably rebuild yours if you ship it to him..he's in NY. he's an expert on all import engines.
