Need help with Vacuum hoses on 22re
I have an 86 4runner with a 22re. I am fixing the previous owner's issues and have almost figured out all the vacuum lines. There are two large ones left. One is coming out of the bottom of the part circled on the throttle body. The other is on the driver's side of the intake. Both are circled in red.
Also I have a plug hanging out of the bottom of the intake that is green with a blue wire and a white wire that I cannot figure out where it goes. The plug looks like the injector plugs. Thanks.

Yeah that is his rig, I saved those pictures on my computer when I was trying to figure everything out. Hope he doesnt mind. The air valve you are referring to, would this be the PAIR valve? because my rig doesnt have one, and I think this manifold may be off a truck that does have one. That makes sense. Thanks LD.

what do you have for cold fast idle? what throttle body do you have? the T.B. in the picture like on my '85 requires a seperate air valve mounted under the intake manifold

Im not sure what you're talking about for cold fast idle. Also I have that throttle body but no air valve. I just have the hose going off the bottom of the piece that is circled blocked off. The other hose port on the intake that you said goes to the valve I also have blocked off.

is that wire hanging just below the intake manifold? If so, sounds like you need an air valve. mine are blue and white also. the valve just lets more air through when the engine is cold (fast idle). when cold, mine starts at about 1,100 rpm and decreases to 750 in a few minutes.

Thats it, but where does this air come from? It looks like there should be a hose from the air box to the valve, but my air box has no hole. Also, mine doesn't have a fast idle (obviously) but I haven't had any problems resulting from that.

just below the idle speed screw (circled in first photo), a hose runs down and plugs into the air valve. from the other side of the air valve, a hose runs to the air chamber,(circled in 2nd photo) . this bypasses the throttle valve. the wire gives 12 volts upon start up, to start warming the valve.
