Hey guys i have a problem. The other day a valve started to tap real bad so i drove my 4 runner home and parked it. The next day went to start it and it wouldn't start it would turn over and try to almost start but nothing. I took the cap off the dist and checked to make sure it was turning and it is. I then put the cap back on and unhooked the coil wire and put a screwdriver up to it and cranked it and no spark, sorry a very very very tiny kind of spark. Two weeks ago i put a new cap and rotor on and it drove fine until that valve started to tap real bad. Can someone point me in the right direction on what i should check first. Thanks Pat.

 

try swappin out ignition coil

 

I will give that a try, maybe i can find one on e-bay. Any other sugestions or any way i can check coil?

 

O.K. i checked the ohms at the coil and real quick they went to like .56 then real fast went down to .02 then 0 so i guess the coil is bad. Am i right?

get one from auto zone...try it ....if it dont work..take it back...about 65 bucks.

 

check all connections to coil and ignitor also. Leaving any codes?
