Need Help Locating Cat Convert Bolts

Well I finally became the victim of Cat theft! I purchased this one to replace:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...&parentId=61-0

Got the Gaskets as well. Problem I'm having is locating the bolts required to put the new one on. Really trying hard to not have to go through Toyota parts and pay premium.

It's a 93 Runner - V6 3VZE

Thanks!!

lol I literally tried every bolt AutoZone and O'Reilly's had and none fit - the front is ok but the rear is a double-sided bolt that connects one side to the Cat and the other to a stabalizing bracket

drill the threads out of it, THEN use a bolt straight through it with some lock washers and a nut

I think the nut on the rear is actually welded to the exhaust plate but it may just be rusted on - I see it on the lower left of your picture and it certainly looks like just a normal nut so that may be the case

wait you know what... maybe there were in fact welded to that plate...

you could always try to break the welds??? can't be more than a tac-weld. I don't know; I don't have the cat to go look at any more

So that AutoZone cat is a direct fit? Pretty cool, wonder how it compares in flow to the stock one.

Not a bad price at all... but you shouldn't have to be buying a new cat anyway. That coulda been mod money!

Agreed! I never knew stealing Cats was such a rampant crime until it happened to me and I started researching it - In my neighborhood alone there were numerous thefts and from what I've been told the bolt on Cat on Runners makes them a target

I think I have some of those bolts and the plate you speak of. Let me check my box and get back with you.

I just checked, and I have the plate with rubber hangers, but the bolts were not there. Sorry and good luck

Not sure where you are located but Ace seems to have a better metric selection (varies store to store) and then of course there is fastenal.

I swear if I could electrify my rig I would... (and then get slapped with a civil suit by the thief!)

Best protection for your cat is this though: BudBuilt skid plates.... They can't get through 1/4" steel to get to the Cat!
