Need help installing a Tach

I ordered an Autometer Tach. Does anyone know how to wire it to a 1988 Toyota 4runner with the 22re? Any help would be great. Should I wire it to the ingnition coil or somewhere else? Thanks.

you need a spot for a wire on the negative side of the coil, a wire for power, a wire for the backlight(usually hooks into your headlight switch). and of course a ground. i bought an equss tach a while ago and the diagram says. Red wire to +12v through your ignition switch(fused). white wire to +12v through headlight switch(fused). black wire to a ground. and the green wire to the negative side of your ignition coil(not fused). hope this helps
