Noticed I was leaking fluid near the transmission and saw that I was missing a bolt where this broken bracket is. Anyone know what this is called and knows where I can get a new one? I would assume its the cause or not helping the leak situation...



Picture is from the bottom looking up obviously.

 

The left bellhousing bracket is the part going to the engine block that's cracked.

The leak's oil, most likely, from your rear main seal, or from the front of the engine, getting blown back.

Have the engine cleaned, and take it for a few short drives, and watch where it's coming from.

 

The oil is coming out right where the flange is in the middle of the bellhousing (right where you can see that drop really, inbetween the flange). I cleaned it up some, sprayed some baby powder on it and drove it around already.

Main seal wouldn't surprise me, its been sitting a while. Think I'll try some 20w-50 first, then just swap a 3.4 in, lol...

Name: stiffener plate

Betting dealer can get you another, or salvage yard to save some coin. 4 bolts hold it on, and with one broke out you are down to three... so easy job to replace.

I think you could probably run it like it is currently for a very long time unless you are out on the trails in 4Low torquing the motor often... then I'd replace the stiffener.

I'd agree a leak in that area is probably from the main seal... but I guess you are already clued into that one.

 

Toyota sell that metal bracket part and the screw into it, oil must be leaking from the oil pan or the rear plate.
