Need help with fuel injector/rail assembly
Hello I've come to a hault in reassembling the engine after replacing the head gaskets on my pickup with the 3vze, I'm a little confused on how to install the injector spacer and o-ring on the intake side, I've looked at the manual posted on utulsa'a site and it's not very detailed on the little things. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the fuel rail or any of its components upon disassembly.
Do I need to have both the thick rubber ring and the intake spacer as pictured below?
When I try to install it with both it seems the injectors don't seat and I can hardly thread on the nut for the rail.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Spacer, front or back side?
O ring that's suppose to go with the spacer somehow?

If anyone could post a link to a good fuel injector replacement write up that'd also be great so far all the ones I've found haven't been directly related.

The little O-ring goes on the top like you have on the injector. Lube it with gasoline per FSM. I use gas or even WD-40 when putting the fuel rail on a 22re, probably the same as the 3.0. You do not want to get a knick in that O-ring as it will leak fuel. The little O-ring is a replacement for the top of the injector.
The larger seal, I am not use to seeing in that style. Not sure on that. If it is correct, it goes on the bottom of the injector. The seals go on the injector and then you install them in the fuel rail.
You should of gotten a center rubber seal as sometimes they get hard and brittle. They kind of act as a shock asorber and help keep tention between the fuel rail and intake.

Just did this. First make sure the lower seals are out of the plastic cup piece that actually touches the intake manifold.
Next put the seal (first picture) and new injector cap onto the injector. The thick rubber o-ring is not used in our application.
Now put a very thin coat of grease on the seal and push the injector into the plastic cup.
Make sure the plastic cup has a new o-ring of its own or clean the old one. Now put the whole assembly into the lower intake manifold.
The tiny o-ring goes on top of the injector.
Repeat 5 times.
Ask questions that arise.
