need help finding ignition "on" hot wire
so im installing a carter 4070 to complete my 32/36 install im going to be putting an oil pressure safety switch in line to the fuel pump. the oil pressure safety switch has 3 prongs one to the fuel pump one for a power source from the start circuit which ill be running from the wire bolted to the starter solenoid, or can i run that from the bolt on the starter body with the main large positive wire coming from the battery ? and the third it wants to be ran from a wire that is hot only when the ignition is turned to the on position. now i want to run a wire straight from the battery to the oil pressure switch ignition prong and have a relay between the two thats triggered from the a wire that is hot with the ignition in the on position. where would i find a wire that is only hot with ignition set to on? i have heard the voltage regulator on other cars is a good place but i haven't seem to be able to locate it is there one? its a 86 pickup 22r

Get yourself a FSM, the wiring diagram at the end of the manual will be your best friend.
I have an 88, so i don't know if the wires are the same for the 86.
There is a 7.5A fuse in your fuse block that is labeled IGN...ignition(Bk/Y)....any reason why you wouldn't tap that? OR the Engine fuse (R) red wire.
