Need help fast on my 3.0
My 88 3.0 5spd 4runner, is having major power issues. Once I drive the truck around for a couple minutes I loose all torque. The truck can barely get out of its own way, UNLESS I push the excelerator to the floor then I can feel the truck instantly jump back to power and it pulls the way it used to. Also as Im accelerating under the light power the truck feels like it is chugging a but. I have replaced the coil, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, plugs.
Why do I have to have my foot to the floor for the truck to wake up?
Im leaving for a 700mi round trip on friday.

if the check engine light is on you can check the codes yourself.

Wow, I got 6 codes
14
25
26
41
43
51
25/26 should be because my o2 sensor ripped out of my exhaust and is now dangling beneath the truck
Some of those codes are indicating TPS, some are indicating a starter issue???
By looking at those codes what do you think. Im going to go pick up a feeler guage and do the TPS adjustment. Since I didnt have a feeler I did check the wide open position resistance and it was 4.9Kohms which is good (between 3.3 and 10) But I guess I should check the others.

Seriously though - mine has done something like that, but not quite as bad. Seafoam helps, but I think changing the O2 sensor was the real fix.
Note: I didn't really record before/after data, but I seem to be getting quite a bit better mileage since changing the O2 sensor too. With the price of gas lately, it won't take long to earn back the money for the sensor (about $80 IIRC)

Well I checked the 4 points on the TPS and the 1st and 4th positions are within spec. The 2nd and 3rd positions are only readind about 12 ohms it should be 2300 ohms and infinite ohms. So that smells like a short.
As for the o2 sensor. I need a new bung or just that section of pipe with a bung in it and weld it all up then buy a new o2 sensor, and SPLICE it in. Does everyone else not have a connector for the o2 sensor or is it just me or am i retarded
