i dont think my 4x4 is working...what would i probably have to change?

You need to give us a little more info than that bub. Just like your other post.

And isolate the problem first. What part of the 4x4 system isn't working? Can you shift into 4x4? Does the driveshaft spin? do the hubs lock? etc etc

 

also do u hear a click from the dash if u do have ADD does ur 4x4 light come on when u put it in 4x4

 

my cluster is broken so i cant see if my 4x4 is going on but it does shift into 4x4 but front tires not spinning...the truck is an 86 by the way

 

Does it happen to have manual hubs in the front which you've left unlocked?

are the front CVs spinning?

is at least the drive shaft spinning after shifting into 4wd?

is there even a front drive shaft on the truck? lol

have you looked at anything besides the 4wd shifter itself and the dash?


and if your not sure about the manual or auto hubs, post a pic or at least describe what you're lookin like...
